Built with structural reinforcing ribs for added support and strength, the valve box and lid are constructed with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) materials, a combination of virgin and recycled materials. Both the box and lid are treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking due to sun exposure.

The valve box features a precut pipe hole for easy irrigation pipe connections. Additionally, it has a built-in bolt hole and brass nut to secure the lid with a 2-1/2 in. X 3/8 in. bolt (sold separately as model 113BB). The overlapping lid design blocks dirt and debris from entering the valve box, keeping the components clean and secure underground. The lid is marked for Irrigation Control Valve (ICV) use and features slots for easy lifting with a flathead screwdriver.
